In a gesture that underscores his inspiring and youth-centric leadership, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University Prof. Dr. Karamjeet Singh felicitated the entire team of the university’s Youth Welfare Department for successfully organising zonal, inter-zonal and Punjab State Inter-University Youth festival. During a special gathering, Prof. Karamjeet Singh honoured Dr. Amandeep Singh, in-charge of the Youth Welfare Department, along with his team, recognising their dedication and hard work.
The event highlighted the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of appreciation within the institution. Addressing the team, Prof. Karamjeet Singh said, “The effort you have all put in is not merely about organising a youth festival; it is a noble endeavour to provide a platform for the hidden talents of young people to shine.
I have closely observed every small and big contribution you made. It is because of your wholehearted dedication that these festivals turned out to be such a resounding success, earning open praise from officials and students of universities and colleges across Punjab for our arrangements.
This honour is a mark of respect for your hard work. I personally feel immense pride that our university has such a committed team.” He added, “Youth festivals are not just competitions; they are also a medium to connect the younger generation with their cultural heritage.
Your arrangements have not only inspired other universities in Punjab but have also set a new benchmark for our own institution. The event began with Dr. Amandeep Singh welcoming the guests and presenting a detailed report on the organisation of the youth festivals.
He attributed the entire success to the personal interest, timely guidance and full support extended by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Karamjeet Singh. University Registrar Dr. K.S. Chahal also congratulated the team, noting that their hard work was clearly evident in the flawless arrangements. Dean Student Welfare Dr. H.S. Saini expressed gratitude to all participants at the conclusion of the programme. The stage was anchored by Dr. Simran Kaur from the Agriculture Department.

Nearly 80 students played a pivotal role as volunteers and anchors in making the youth festivals a success.
