Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex to review the arrangements for the smooth and dignified celebration of Republic Day–2026. The meeting was attended by ADC, ADDC, ASP Headquarters, ACD, ACP, CPO Doda along with district officers and officials.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that Sports Stadium Doda will be the venue for the Republic Day celebration. He directed the concerned departments to ensure timely preparation of the venue. Detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, traffic regulation, parade rehearsals, cultural programmes, seating arrangements, illumination of government buildings, provision of sanitation, power supply, drinking water, fire and emergency services, ambulance facilities and overall inter-departmental coordination to ensure a flawless national celebration.

The DC further directed that patriotic songs be played across the district through official vehicles to create a festive and patriotic atmosphere. He instructed officers to organize flag hoisting ceremonies at Panchayat, Block and Sub-divisional levels at Amrit Sarovars, to ensure widespread public participation. 

The full dress rehearsal will be conducted on December 24, 2026 and all concerned departments were directed to ensure their preparedness well in advance. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a Tiranga Rally will be organized as part of the celebrations. 

He also directed the Chief Education Officer to organize a special event commemorating the 150th Glorious Years of “Vande Mataram” during the Republic Day celebrations. The DC urged all officers to work with dedication and coordination to make the celebrations grand, disciplined, inclusive and memorable for the people of the District.

The Deputy Commissioner issued specific directions to all district and sectoral officers to ensure meticulous planning and execution of their assigned responsibilities. He instructed the Police and Traffic authorities to prepare a comprehensive security and traffic management plan, while the PWD and Municipal authorities were asked to focus on venue readiness, sanitation and illumination and the PDD and Jal Shakti Departments were asked to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply. 

The Health, Fire & Emergency and allied departments were directed to keep adequate manpower, ambulances and emergency response systems on standby.  The District Information Officer was specifically tasked with arrangements related to the public address system, media coverage, sound system and airing of Shehnai Vadan during the celebrations. All departments were asked to maintain close coordination and submit regular progress reports to ensure seamless arrangements for the Republic Day celebrations.
