The 2nd Anesthesia Review Course, Tata Memorial Centre (ARC-TMC Punjab 2025) was successfully held from 12th to 14th December 2025 at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH&RC), New Chandigarh, a Unit of Tata Memorial Centre and a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

Organized by the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain, the course was designed as a comprehensive, examination-oriented academic program for postgraduate students of Anesthesiology. The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Avnish Kumar, Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab, and Dr. (Prof.) Gurvinder Pal Thami, Director Principal, GMCH Sector 32, as Chief Guests. Dr. (Prof.) Vijaya Patil, Head of the Department of Anesthesia at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, and Dr. (Prof.) Ramesh Sen, Director Orthopedic Services, Max Hospital Mohali, were the Guests of Honor.

The dignitaries appreciated the academic rigor, structured format, and organizational excellence of the Punjab unit, expressing optimism about its growth as a center of academic excellence. Dr. (Prof.) Ashish Gulia, Director of HBCH&RC Punjab, highlighted the institute’s strong commitment to academics and research, emphasizing that education remains a core pillar alongside comprehensive cancer care.

He said on the occasion, "The Tata Memorial Centre has pioneered many things, always devising new educational modules and techniques so that we can enrich the knowledge of our budding doctors as they can serve the needy people of the society, and the ARC is the most successful example from the Tata Memorial Centre."

The course was conducted under the leadership of Dr. (Prof.) Lalita Gouri Mitra, Head of the Department, as Course Director, with Dr. Sofia Jaswal serving as Organizing Secretary. ARC Punjab 2025 featured over 40 eminent faculty members from leading institutions, including AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, GMCH Sector 32, PGI Rohtak, IGMC Shimla, AIIMS Bathinda, and medical colleges across North India. More than 85 postgraduate delegates participated in focused lectures, clinical case discussions, and OSCE-based learning sessions aligned with the MD and DNB curriculum.

A major highlight of the course was the hands-on workshops conducted daily, offering practical training in anesthesia workstations, airway devices, one-lung ventilation, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, fiberoptic intubation, and BLS/ACLS. These interactive sessions significantly enhanced both knowledge and clinical skills of the postgraduate students.

ARC TMC Punjab 2025 reaffirmed its position as a premier postgraduate refresher program, fostering academic excellence, collaborative learning, and professional growth in anesthesiology.
