The warm invitation courtesy the Secretary, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) and Lok Sabha Member Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer proved god send for the 1100 students of the Government schools of Barnala who got a rare opportunity of witnessing the India Afghanistan test cricket match at International cricket stadium in New Chandigarh.

The Sangrur MP alongwith father of Indian Captain Shubhman Gill, Lakhwinder Singh Gill watched the cricket match with the students inside the Yuvraj Singh stand. The match was won by the Men in Blue by an innings and 300 runs within just 3 days.

The 1100 students of School of Eminence, Barnala and various Government schools had the excitement palpable among them and cheered for the home team with never ending and deafening applause at regular intervals. Meet Hayer went especially to interact with the students in the Yuvraj Singh stand and enjoyed the encounter in the second session with them.

The one of it's kind experience was exhilarating for the students with joyfulness writ large on their faces. They carried banners, posters in support of team India with some of them being witness to the match inside stadium for the first time.

The students profusely expressed gratitude to Meet Hayer and took autographs from Shubhman Gill's father on the posters. Meet Hayer while welcoming the students on behalf of PCA, averred that it is a big occasion for the students to see their heartthrob cricketers in action on the ground and cheer for them.

The PCA ensured great arrangements for affording a golden chance to the students to see the match during summer break, said Meet Hayer adding that the transportation as well as the afternoon refreshments were also arranged by the PCA for the students besides gifting T Shirts as souvenirs.
