Gokul Butail, Principal Advisor (Innovation, Digital Technology and Governance) to the Chief Minister said that the state government was firmly committed to providing convenient and citizen-friendly services to the people of the state. The Government was also ensuring optimal use of innovation and digital technology so that the people of state can avail digital services at their home with just one click.

He was addressing the gathering at the 62nd Sood Milan Diwas organised by the Sood Sabha, Chandigarh. He said that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was continuously working to simplify public services and improve governance through technology-driven solutions.

Shri Butail lauded the Sood Sabha, Chandigarh, established in 1959, for its sustained and commendable efforts in social service. He appreciated the Sabha for providing regular financial assistance to the needy and widows, extending support to patients visiting for medical treatment, distributing educational material to students, besides undertaking several other charitable initiatives.

Highlighting the State’s digital initiatives, the Principal Advisor said that a wide range of government services in Himachal Pradesh are now available online, enabling citizens to complete most of their essential work from home and saving both time and effort.

Citing an example, he said that learner driving licences are now issued online, eliminating the need for repeated visits to government offices. He further said that the state government was promoting digitization and the e-filing system in official work to enhance transparency and efficiency in working. 

He said that Himachal has launched a paperless registration system,  'My Deed'  making it the first State in the country to implement this initiative. Through the My Deed portal, citizens were now able to access multiple services with a single click. On the occasion Gokul Butail announced a contribution of Rs. one lakh to the Sood Sabha, Chandigarh.

He also highlighted the steps being taken by the state government to improve the financial position of the state. He said that his family has been actively involved in social service for several decades, recalling that his grandfather, late Kanhaiya Lal Butail, established the first women’s charitable college in Himachal Pradesh at Palampur in Kangra district in 1962.

President Sood Sabha, Chandigarh, Ashwani Sood, General Secretary Sudhir Sood, Finance Secretary Khushvinder Sood, Patron V.K. Sood, Ashwani Dogra,  Shashi Sood, Umesh Sood, Joint Finance Secretary Lokesh Sood other office-bearers, members of the executive committee and a large number of members of the Sood Sabha were present on the occasion.
