GHSS Tikri gets eco-friendly school desks

Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today visited Government Higher Secondary School Tikri and presented to the school a consignment of eco-friendly desks manufactured from recycled waste materials. The Desks have been donated to the school by SBI cards and payment services Ltd and IPCA under Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. 

Joint Director Education Udhampur-Reasi Range, Jagdish Chander and Chief Education Officer Shubhash Gupta accompanied the DC. Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the school administration, staff members and students. 

She lauded the commendable CSR efforts of SBI card and IPCA. She underscored the significance of such eco-friendly initiatives in strengthening the education system while simultaneously contributing to environmental sustainability. The DC appreciated the dual focus of the initiative on effective waste management and enhancement of school infrastructure. 

She remarked that the provision of these recycled desks aims to create a better and more conducive learning environment for students, while also spreading awareness about recycling and sustainable practices. She expressed hope that such initiatives would inspire greater community participation and corporate involvement in promoting education and environmental responsibility.
