Former Education Minister and MLA Pargat Singh stated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has no control over the law-and-order situation in Punjab. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann himself is occupied with domestic and foreign tours. He should postpone these foreign trips and focus first on the situation in Punjab so that the people—who are living in fear—can get some relief. Pargat Singh said that the AAP government is using every possible tactic to murder democracy in the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections.

Instead of making the elections transparent and impartial, the election code of conduct is being blatantly violated. Pargat Singh undertook a whirlwind election-related tour of several villages in the Jalandhar Cantonment Assembly constituency, including Kadianwali, Salempur Masand, Jamsher, Bambianwal, Kukkar Pind, Kot Kalan, Sarhali, and Kot Khurd. During these meetings, he exposed what he called the hollow policies of the AAP government.

Going from village to village, he raised awareness about how the Punjab government has deteriorated the law-and-order situation and turned the state into a police regime. He declared that the end of AAP’s rule has begun. Seeing the worsening conditions in Punjab and the betrayal of promises made to the people, he said the public will soon oust them from power.

He appealed to the people to ensure the victory of Congress candidates contesting the Block Committee and Zila Parishad elections. He alleged that, just like in the by-elections, AAP is completely disrupting these elections.

He claimed that nomination papers of several Congress candidates were torn, misplaced, or rejected without any valid reason after submission—preventing them from contesting. He said that Congress will achieve a decisive victory in these elections and AAP will receive a fitting response.

According to him, the common people stand with the Congress.
