National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan on Monday issued a powerful appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging the formation of an elite, centrally supervised anti-drug force to save Punjab from what he described as a “moral and emotional crisis.”

In a strongly worded statement from Ludhiana, Grewal said Punjab is at a painful crossroads, with the drug menace tearing apart families, villages and entire generations. Calling the situation more than a law-and-order concern, he said it has become a humanitarian tragedy where “every lost young life is a deep wound to the soul of Punjab.”

Emphasizing that his appeal was human, not political, Grewal spoke of mothers living in fear, fathers feeling helpless, and children whose futures are being stolen by narcotics. He expressed full faith in the “zero-tolerance” leadership of PM Modi and HM Shah and urged them to intensify enforcement to liberate Punjab from the grip of drugs.

Grewal proposed the creation of a Special Anti-Drug Force, modeled on an elite task unit, to operate under central supervision and free from political interference. He said the force should consist of young, disciplined and highly trained officers equipped with modern technology, intelligence systems and advanced weaponry, dedicated solely to dismantling drug networks.

He pressed for the urgent identification of the top 100 drug mafia leaders linked to Punjab and called for a coordinated crackdown by national agencies including the NIA, ED, IB, RAW and BSF. Their financial networks, political backing and foreign links must be exposed and destroyed, he said, to collapse the supply chain “from the top to the street level.”

Stating that half measures will no longer suffice, Grewal said only bold, honest and fearless action can rescue Punjab from this crisis. “This fight is not for headlines but for lives,” he said, urging the nation to stand with Punjab at this decisive moment.
