Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry said that the State Government is sensitive to the interests of its employees. She said that the department is rationalizing the operational circles as well as the positions of employees, so that every employee is assigned work strictly according to their designated post.

Concrete efforts are underway in this direction. She said that Beldars and Canal Guards are the backbone of the department. To ensure clear identification in the field, they will soon be provided separate uniforms based on their respective posts. This will help streamline the work system more effectively in field operations.

Smt. Shruti Choudhry was presiding over a meeting with representatives of the All Haryana PWD Mechanical Employees’ Union from Charkhi Dadri and Kurukshetra, here today. She listened attentively to the demands and issues presented by the union and assured that all genuine demands would be considered sympathetically.

She added that she would also hold detailed discussions with the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh in this regard. She said that Haryana was recently awarded third place at the national level for water conservation, and the credit for this achievement goes to the dedication and hard work of the department's field staff.

Expressing pride, she said that as the Minister in charge of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, it is an honour for her to bring this recognition to Haryana. This achievement reflects the fulfilment of the vision of her grandfather, the late Chaudhary Bansi Lal, who had dreamt of a robust canal network and lift irrigation system in the state.

During the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary,  Sh. Anurag Agarwal, assured the Minister that the files and approvals related to the decisions and directions issued after the meeting would be expedited and processed promptly through the Finance Department and other administrative departments.

The union representatives expressed their gratitude to Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry for patiently listening to the employees’ concerns and assuring solutions. Chief Engineers, Sh. Rakesh Chauhan, Sh. Birender Singh, Dr. Satbir Kadian, along with other officers and union representatives, were also present during the meeting.
