National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan said that he wholeheartedly appreciates the clear, transparent and reassuring communication issued by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and the Government of India regarding the proposal related to the law-making process for the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

He said that this clarification reflects the Government’s deep commitment to honesty, responsibility and respect for the sentiments of every resident of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. Grewal wrote on his social media X account that the Government has once again demonstrated its sincere dedication to serving the people with truth, clarity and compassionate governance.

He said that the Central Government has confirmed that the proposal is only under consideration and that no final decision has been taken. He further stated that this transparent communication shows the maturity, sensitivity and patient approach of the Government of India.

Grewal said that he deeply welcomes the clarification that the proposal does not seek to alter Chandigarh’s governance structure or administrative framework in any way, and that it carries no intention of disturbing the long-standing traditional arrangements between Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana.

He said this reassurance brings comfort and confidence to everyone who loves Chandigarh and respects its unique and balanced administrative legacy. Grewal told that the Government of India has clearly stated that any suitable decision will be taken only after full, adequate and respectful consultations with all stakeholders, keeping foremost in mind the interests, dignity and welfare of the people of Chandigarh.

He said that this consultative and inclusive approach reflects the true spirit of democratic governance under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi Ji. Grewal said that there is absolutely no need for any worry or concern on this matter and that the public should remain confident because the Central Government has no intention of bringing any Bill on this issue in the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament.

He said that this honest clarification shows the Government’s responsibility, transparency and commitment to stability. Grewal told that PM Modi Ji’s leadership stands for peace, clarity, trust and national harmony, and once again, through this statement, the Government of India has shown that every decision is taken with sincerity, love for the people and a strong moral responsibility towards the nation.

Grewal said that he expresses heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi Ji and the Government of India for placing truth, transparency and the people’s interest above everything else. He said this clarity will strengthen trust, remove confusion and bring peace of mind to all.
