After the recent appointment of district presidents, the Congress Party has further accelerated its preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections. At a meeting held in Sarabha Nagar, former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board and senior Congress leader Pawan Dewan discussed future strategies with District Congress Committee (Urban) President Sanjay Talwar and other party leaders.

Earlier, Dewan and party workers presented a token of respect to Talwar on being reappointed as the president of the District Congress Committee (Urban). They also expressed their gratitude to the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, along with the party high command, for reposing trust in Talwar’s leadership. Party leaders said that under Talwar’s guidance, the Congress will emerge even stronger in Ludhiana.

Addressing the gathering, Talwar and Dewan emphasized that preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections must begin immediately. They said that the people are fed up and distressed by the failures of the present government and are looking toward the Congress Party for change. They stressed the need to reach out to households across the city to make people aware of the party’s policies and the shortcomings of the government.

The leaders further highlighted that the Congress has made significant sacrifices to pull Punjab out of the dark era of terrorism. For the party, peace, progress, and communal harmony in the state remain the top priorities. They stated that steps will be taken to reactivate senior party workers and strengthen the organisation at the block and ward levels. They affirmed that only the Congress Party can lead Punjab on the path of real development.

Among those present on the occasion were senior Congress leaders, Inderjit Kapoor, Purshottam Khalifa, PCC member Sushil Malhotra, Karan Kalia, Kulbir Neeta, Deepak Hans, Gaurav Ghai (MC), Monu Kinda (Block President), Rohit Pahwa, Sunny Kheewa, Jaswinder Singh Osahan, Shiv Osahan, Hemant Mahajan, Harbhagat Grewal, Gurnam Singh Kaler, Anil Sachdeva, Yogesh Gupta, Keval Pahwa, Rajesh Aggarwal, Santosh Garg, and Raman Sharma.
