As part of the ongoing commemorations marking the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Hind Di Chadar, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, a grand Light and Sound Show titled “Hind Di Chadar” was held by Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Government Of Punjab at Mohali on Tuesday evening. The magnificent presentation, portraying the life, philosophy, and supreme sacrifice of Guru Sahib, left the audience deeply moved and spiritually uplifted.

The show beautifully depicted the voice of truth, justice, and human rights raised by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, along with his devoted Sikhs — Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji — who attained martyrdom at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, 350 years ago. Built around the immortal verse “Tilak Janju Rakha Prabh Ta Ka, Keeno Bado Kalu Mehak Saka”, the narrative unfolded through a mesmerizing digital spectacle combining sound, light, and devotion.

The presentation covered the entire life sketch of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji — from his spiritual enlightenment and unmatched sacrifice — culminating in the creation of the Khalsa Panth by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which carried forward the eternal message of courage, faith, and righteousness. Adding a traditional touch, the Kavishri Jatha led by Bhai Rajbir Singh recited Vaaran depicting Guru Sahib’s martyrdom, while the congregation reverberated with Jaikaras of “Dhan Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.”

The atmosphere remained charged with spiritual fervor and devotion throughout the evening. The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is observing the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji across the state with devotion and grandeur.

The series of commemorative programmes aims to spread Guru Sahib’s eternal message of peace, compassion, courage, and the protection of human values. As part of these celebrations, state-level events will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25.

For the first time, a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will also be convened at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 24 to mark this historic occasion. Religious congregations and Kirtan Samagams will take place at various Gurdwara Sahibs associated with Guru Sahib’s life and travels.

Grand Nagar Kirtans will commence from prominent locations, including one from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, which will reach Mohali on November 21. After a night halt, it will proceed towards Sri Anandpur Sahib. Each Nagar Kirtan will be accorded a ceremonial ‘Guard of Honour’ in every district along its route — a tribute befitting the unparalleled legacy of Hind Di Chadar.

Prominent among those present at the event included Sh. Manish Sisodia, Incharge AAP Punjab; MLAs Kulwant Singh (Mohali) and Kuljit Singh Randhawa (Derabassi); OSD to Chief Minister Amanjot Singh; Chairperson, District Planning Committee, Prabhjot Kaur; Member, Punjab Traders’ Commission, Vineet Verma; Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal; ADCs Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, Geetika Singh, and Sonam Chaudhary; SDM Damandeep Kaur; and AC (G) Dr. Ankita Kansal, along with a large number of devotees and dignitaries.

The show concluded amid chants of “Bole So Nihal... Sat Sri Akal,” resonating a profound sense of devotion and pride in the timeless legacy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji — the protector of faith, truth, and humanity.
