My Yuva Bharat, Mohali organized a press conference today on the theme “Sardar@150 Unity March” at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), PEC Chandigarh. The press conference was chaired by District Youth Officer Ms. Isha Gupta, along with other senior dignitaries of My Yuva Bharat, Mohali.

During the briefing, Ms. Isha Gupta stated that the main objective of this initiative is to instill a sense of national pride among the youth, encourage social responsibility, and strengthen the spirit of unity. The campaign is inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for nation-building through public participation.

It aims to involve people of all age groups—from youth to senior citizens—while empowering them with knowledge of India’s history, culture, and their role in nation-building. The initiative especially focuses on the “Amrit Peedhi,” i.e., today’s youth.

She informed that on 6 October 2025, the Government of India and My Bharat launched the Sardar@150 Unity March, dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This nationwide campaign aims to promote unity, patriotism, leadership, and duty among the youth.

Digital Phase Launch

On 6 October, the Honourable Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, launched the digital phase of the campaign on the My Bharat portal. The digital phase includes a social media reel competition, essay writing, and the Sardar@150 Young Leaders Programme. A total of 150 selected winners will participate in the national Padyatra.

Campaign Phases

In Mohali, two district-level Padyatras will be organized in November 2025, covering 8–10 km each. Prior to the Padyatra, schools and colleges will host essay and debate competitions, seminars on Sardar Patel’s life, and street plays. Youth will take the Nasha-Mukt Bharat Pledge, the “Garv Se Swadeshi” pledge, and Swadeshi Melas will also be organized.

During the Padyatra, tributes will be paid to Sardar Patel’s statue/portraits, the Atmanirbhar Bharat Pledge will be administered, cultural programmes will be held, and participation certificates will be distributed.State Cabinet Ministers, MPs, local administration, My Bharat representatives, and NCC officers will lead the Padyatras across states and Union Territories.

Rashtriya Padyatra

From 26 November to 6 December 2025, a 152 km Rashtriya Padyatra will take place from Karamsad to the Statue of Unity, Kevadia. Social development activities will be organized in villages along the route, with participation from My Bharat members, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, and young leaders.

At 150 halts along the route, exhibitions on Sardar Patel’s life and contribution to the freedom struggle will be displayed, along with celebrations of India’s cultural diversity. Every evening, a special programme titled “Sardar Gatha” will be held, featuring inspiring stories of Patel’s leadership and his role in uniting the nation.
