The Committee for the Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, led by Chairperson Saravjit Kaur Manuke, today visited Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan and interacted with students preparing for various competitive examinations. During the visit, Manuke motivated the aspirants—the girl students—to work hard and achieve their goals through dedication and perseverance.

She lauded the Jalandhar Administration’s initiative of providing free coaching, study material, and career counselling to students from underprivileged backgrounds. Highlighting the importance of education and empowerment, Manuke said, “These efforts will not only open doors to government jobs but also instill confidence among girls and make their families proud.”

Currently, 25 girl students are receiving training under this program aimed at enhancing representation from marginalized sections in competitive exams for various government departments. Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh briefed the committee about the district administration’s ongoing measures to uplift weaker sections of society and assured continued support for educational and skill development initiatives.
