Member, Punjab State Traders’ Commission, Sh. Vineet Verma today assured the traders and shopkeepers of Mohali of a smooth, safe, and trader-friendly environment in line with the commitment of the Bhagwant Singh Mann–led Punjab Government. Addressing a meeting with representatives of various trade and shopkeepers’ associations at PSTCL Guest House, Mohali, Sh. Verma lent a patient hearing to the issues raised by them, particularly in view of the ongoing festive season. 

He reiterated that the State Government and the Commission are fully committed to ensuring a supportive atmosphere for traders and shopkeepers across Punjab. Emphasizing the need for mutual responsibility, he urged traders to maintain quality and purity of goods, ensure cleanliness and hygiene in their establishments, and keep sufficient space in front of shops and booths to facilitate easy movement of customers.

During the interaction, traders highlighted issues pertaining to the Municipal Corporation and other departments, such as early cleaning operations in markets, recarpeting and marking of parking areas, and traffic management including better rotation at traffic lights and enhanced PCR presence during the festive days. Sh. Verma assured that all concerns raised will be taken up on priority with the concerned authorities to ensure timely redressal. He also shared a helpline number – 95929-00110 – for lodging grievances or sharing suggestions to improve coordination and service delivery by local authorities.

Prominent representatives present in the meeting included Sital Singh (Chairman), Suresh Goyal (Patron), Fauja Singh (Cashier), Akbinder Singh Gosal (Sr. Vice President), and Suresh Verma (Vice President) from Mohali Beopar Mandal; Sarabjit Singh Prince, President, Mohali Booth Association; and market presidents from various phases — Phase 5 Rajpal Chaudhary, Phase 11 Gurbachan Singh, Phase 10 Vikas Kumar, Phase 2 Nitish Vij, Phase 7 Suresh Verma, Phase 3B1 Rattan Singh, Phase 3B1 Rehri Market Jaswinder Singh, Phase 4 Harpreet Singh, and Sector 69 Pankaj Sharma, besides Surinder Singh, Anil Kumar Aggarwal, Dilpreet Singh, P.K. Sharma, and former MC Gian Chand Aggarwal.
