Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, today chaired the District Level Screening-cum-Coordination Committee (DLSCC) meeting at Circuit House Pulwama to review, discuss, and finalize cases related to benefits under SRO-43.

At the outset, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama briefed the meeting on the current status of each case. After detailed deliberations, the Committee approved various eligible cases under the provisions of SRO-43.

Dr. Qayoom, while assessing each case, emphasised that compensatory measures under SRO-43 must not be viewed merely as official formalities, but as a social and moral responsibility towards families of terror victims.

He directed all departments to adopt a proactive approach to ensure that requisite formalities and verifications are completed expeditiously. With regard to cases where documentation or reports were pending, he instructed the concerned officers to expedite submission to prevent unnecessary delays in extending benefits.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners of Pulwama, Awantipora, and Tral; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Pulwama; as well as officers from Police, Defence, and district administration.
