Senior Congress leader and former Chairman of the Improvement Trust, Dinesh Bassi, said that the life of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh is a true inspiration for the youth. At an age when most young people dream only of studies or jobs, Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life for the freedom of the nation. He was present as the chief guest at the program organized in the Verka area of the eastern constituency to mark Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary.

In his address, Dinesh Bassi stated that today’s generation must learn from the sacrifices and struggles of great revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh. By following his path, society can foster unity and equality. He appealed to the youth to stay away from social evils such as drugs and dedicate themselves to the task of nation-building.

The event was held under the leadership of Ward No. 18 Councillor and Block President Navdeep Singh Hundal. Social activist Manjit Verka, Surinder Pradhan, and other colleagues were also present. Navdeep Singh remarked that it is because of martyrs like Bhagat Singh that we breathe in a free India today. He added that every year in Verka, Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary would continue to be celebrated in the same inspirational manner.

At the conclusion of the program, all those present paid floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and pledged to walk on his ideals. A large number of local residents participated, filling the atmosphere with patriotism. The entire venue resonated with patriotic songs and slogans. Organizers said that remembering and honoring the martyrs is the truest form of national service.

Those present at the event included Ward President Savinder Singh, retired SDO Keval Kumar Bhagat, Rajinder Kala, Master Amrit Singh Randhawa, Pragat Singh Nanakchand, Vicky Verka, Sandeep, and other Congress party members.
