National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan, said that with utmost humility and deep concern, he expresses his heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for his proposed visit to flood-hit Punjab on 9th September.

He said that Punjab, the proud backbone of India’s food security, has been devastated by relentless rains and floods. Thousands of acres of crops have been submerged, countless homes destroyed, precious lives lost, livestock perished, and lakhs of people displaced from their native villages and forced to take shelter in relief camps.

The pain and suffering of Punjab is immense, yet the hope of Punjabis shines bright with the assurance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s compassionate leadership.Grewal told that he had earlier written and appealed directly to the Hon’ble Prime Minister seeking a Special Relief Package for Punjab, immediate compensation for the farmers and victims, the deployment of central assessment teams, and the preparation of a long-term flood management and prevention plan so that such tragedies can be averted in the future.

He said that he sincerely appreciates the ongoing efforts of the Central Government, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the National Disaster Management Authority, the National Disaster Response Force, and the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. Yet, the unprecedented magnitude of this natural catastrophe requires additional urgent measures and compassionate intervention under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji.

Grewal stated that the proposed visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister will not only bring relief but also restore confidence in the hearts of millions of Punjabis who are passing through this difficult time. The expected announcement of a major economic package and compensation will act as a lifeline for the affected families and farmers of Punjab.

He said that Punjab has always stood as the food bowl of India, feeding the nation with its sacrifices and hard work. Today, when Punjab itself is in distress, it looks towards the Central leadership with faith and hope.Grewal said that under the guidance and blessings of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Punjab will rise once again stronger, more resilient, and with renewed faith in Bharat’s unity and compassion.
