Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today flagged off a van loaded with relief material for the flood-affected families of Chenani area. The relief material was handed over to the Sewa Bharti Unit Udhampur for further distribution among the victims.
While interacting with media persons, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the community support and the dedicated efforts of Sewa Bharti in extending timely assistance to the affected families. She congratulated the organization for its humanitarian contribution and emphasized that collective efforts are vital in mitigating the hardships of flood-hit people.
The DC informed that the relief material, comprising ration and other essential items, is meant exclusively for the families impacted by the recent flood. She further added that various teams are tirelessly working on the ground to assess the damages caused and to ensure effective relief and rehabilitation measures.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh, President Sewa Bharti Unit Udhampur Brij Narayan Raina and other officers and prominent citizens were present.
