In a significant step towards advancing academic collaboration and business education, Chitkara Business School, Chitkara University, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), India’s premier management institution. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, along with Prof. Sunil Maheshwari and Prof. Diptesh Ghosh from IIMA, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership that promises to enrich management education.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara expressed her excitement, “This collaboration with IIMA—India’s foremost business institution—will provide a transformative learning experience for our students. It reflects our commitment to offering world-class exposure and industry-relevant insights to future business leaders.”

Prof. Maheshwari and Prof. Ghosh highlighted IIMA’s vision of extending its intellectual leadership beyond its campus through partnerships that foster knowledge sharing, innovation, and future-ready professionals. This alliance will particularly benefit students of Chitkara University’s globally aligned MBA in Human Resource Management, one of the few in India integrated with Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) competencies.

Through this collaboration, HR students will gain access to IIMA’s research-driven pedagogy, industry insights, and thought leadership. Additionally, Chitkara University’s Human Capital Resource Centre (HCRC) plays a pivotal role in shaping HR thought leadership on campus.

HR education is being revolutionized through the Human Capital Resource Centre (HCRC)—a first-of-its-kind initiative that revives the timeless guru-shishya tradition through a modern mentor-mentee model. HCRC bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world business practice by pairing MBA (HR) students with seasoned HR leaders from the industry.

This transformational approach ensures that learning is not confined to classrooms but is deeply embedded in lived corporate realities. The IIMA collaboration will further enrich this platform with the academic depth and legacy that IIMA brings.

Founded in 1961, IIM Ahmedabad is consistently ranked among the top business schools in Asia, globally recognized for its rigorous curriculum, distinguished faculty, and impactful research. Its collaboration with Chitkara University underscores a shared vision of nurturing innovation, leadership, and global business mindsets.

This MoU reinforces Chitkara Business School’s commitment to academic excellence and industry relevance, opening new opportunities for both students and faculty to collaborate on global knowledge platforms.
