Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh  Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy (An Autonomous College) Bela, started weeklong orientation programme 2025-26 for the new batch 2025-29 of Bachelor of Pharmacy and science ( B. Pharmacy and B.Sc MLS) students on 21st July to 25th July. 

The programme included around 150+ students enrolled in B.Pharmacy programme. The college is conducting orientation programme every year for new batches of students. The Orientation programme is envisaged to help students transition into their new academic environment & role and align expectations to the values that COP, Bela upholds as an Institute. 

The event started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr. (Prof.) Shailesh Sharma, Director College of Pharmacy, and Bela. Co-ordinator Dr. (Prof.) Satnam Singh, HOD (Department of Pharmacognosy) organized the orientation programme highlighted the aim and objectives of the programme. 

He told this program is designed to help incoming students transition into college life by introducing them to the campus, faculty, staff, and academic resources. It also provides opportunities for them to meet classmates and learn about student life, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. 

In his keynote adress Dr. (Prof.) Shailesh Sharma, Director apprised the students about the rich legacy and glorious past of Institute  and complemented them for choosing COP, Bela for their bright future. 

He assured the students that they will learn from the best of sources as the college has faculty and facilities of  the highest repute. He gave a very warm welcome to the newly enrolled students and encouraged them to keep up the rich legacy of the institute with their hard work and achievements.

On the first day of the programme new students visted department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical chemistry. Dr. Neha Sharma explained new research techniques being undertaken in Pharmaceutics depatment. 

In Pharmaceutical chemistry lab, Professor Manpreet Kaur and Professor Pooja apprised the students of tools and techniques being used. For the amusement of students– a special session ‘Tell Your Story’for new students was organised by Professor Ramandeep Kaur and Professor Ravina. 

In this session students shared their best thoughts and memories in pleasant and fun-filled enviroment. On Second day, the focus shifted to personal wellness and productivity. Mr. Raj Kumar, a renowned motivational speaker and life coach, conducted an engaging lecture on stress and time management. 

He emphasized the importance of self-awareness, prioritization, and building resilience in academic life. Through real-life anecdotes and interactive techniques, Mr. Kumar inspired students to cultivate healthy routines and mindsets essential for thriving in higher education. 

In the evening session Professor Sandeep Kaur explained the ethical challenges in pharmacy profession and how to overcome these challenges.
