In a remarkable step towards environmental conservation and to promote green consciousness, the Forest Department of Chandigarh organized a special plantation drive under the banner of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” at the picturesque Nature Trail, Lake Beat. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who led the noble initiative by planting a sapling, symbolizing a heartfelt tribute to motherhood and nature.

He was joined by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Vashisth, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor. Also present were the Registrar General of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the District and Sessions Judge, Chandigarh, and other senior judicial officers, all of whom actively participated in the plantation drive, reflecting their commitment to sustainable and eco-conscious living.

Shri Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary Forest, Chandigarh Administration, and Shri Saurabh Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forests along with Anup Soni Conservator of Forest, UT Chandigarh extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and lauded the judiciary's inspiring gesture. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Brar said, “It is truly heartening to see the Hon’ble Chief Justice and other respected members of the judiciary taking this meaningful step.
