Chandigarh Law College, a constituent of CGC Jhanjeri, Mohali, in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla organized its first one-week National Thematic Faculty Development Program (TFDP) on "Understanding the Paradigm Shift and Evolving Contours in New Criminal Legislation." 

The program saw enthusiastic participation from law faculty members, research scholars, and legal professionals from across India. This informative legal program was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena. Prof. (Dr.) S.D. Sharma from Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora, delivered the keynote address. 

The week-long sessions were further enriched by the presence of eminent legal scholars and dignitaries. Throughout the week-long program, experts from various universities, including Prof. (Dr.) Sharanjit Kaur (Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala), Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Jaiswal (Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat), Prof. Asad Malik (Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi), Dr. Zubair Ahmed Khan (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi), Prof. (Dr.) Vageshwari (Delhi University), Prof. (Dr.) Afzal Wani (IILM University, Greater Noida), Advocate Pratham Sethi (Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh), Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh (Lucknow University), and Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Goswami (Retired IPS), Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science, Lucknow, participated and shared their insights.Prof. (Dr.) J.P. Yadav, Director of Chandigarh Law College under CGC Jhanjeri, played a pivotal academic and administrative role throughout this comprehensive program. 

During the week-long sessions, experts deeply discussed critical subjects related to the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).

The program's sessions also covered vital topics such as the philosophical foundations of justice, policing reforms, digital evidence, victim-centric jurisprudence, curriculum reforms, and the role of forensic science in modern law enforcement. 

Each interactive session was meticulously designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world legal practice, equipping educators with essential insights and tools to keep pace with India's evolving criminal justice system. 

On the concluding day, the valedictory session was virtually graced by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur. He shared insightful reflections on academic leadership and its role in strengthening legal education and justice delivery in India.

Sharing his thoughts on the program's success, Mr. Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of CGC Jhanjeri, stated, "Our constant endeavor has been to create platforms that not only enhance the knowledge of educators but also contribute to building a modern and robust legal education system in India. 

These initiatives strengthen our commitment to nation-building and prepare educators to bring about meaningful reforms in the justice system." He extended his congratulations to everyone on the success of this FDP. 

The successful culmination of this Faculty Development Program underscores CGC Jhanjeri's unwavering commitment to advancing legal education, fostering collaborative academic exchange, and empowering faculty members to contribute meaningfully to the nation's progressive criminal law framework.
