In a display of devotion and hospitality, the District Administration Samba extended a warm welcome to the first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 pilgrims at Tapyal today. Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma and SSP Samba, Virinder Singh Manhas personally received the devotees, marking the auspicious beginning of the annual pilgrimage through the district.

A spirit of unity and reverence permeated the atmosphere as local residents, religious leaders, and civil society members joined hands with the administration to greet the pilgrims with open hearts. The warm reception created a serene and spiritually enriching environment for the Yatris.

The welcome event witnessed the presence of senior district officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrate, officials from civil and police administration, and representatives of various religious and social organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma conveyed his heartfelt wishes for a safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling journey for all pilgrims. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring seamless arrangements throughout the Yatra route.

"Pilgrims’ safety, comfort, and spiritual experience remain our top priorities," he said, while urging devotees to adhere to all safety and health protocols. The DC, along with other senior officers, also interacted with the pilgrims to take on-ground feedback regarding the facilities provided, especially at the Langar sites.

He assured that the District Administration, in close coordination with the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and Social and Religious Langar Organizations, has made elaborate arrangements for boarding, lodging, medical care, sanitation, security and other essential services for the smooth conduct of the Yatra.

The collective efforts of all stakeholders ensured that the sacred journey commenced on a note of harmony, faith, and efficient public service, reaffirming Samba district’s role as a gracious host on the divine path to Shri Amarnath Ji.
