CBC Chandigarh Hosts Two-Day Photo Exhibition at PGGC-11

The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office Chandigarh, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with NCC Group Headquarters, Chandigarh, organized a two-day photo exhibition at PG Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, as part of the Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Sh. Naveen Rattu, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Central), UT Chandigarh, in the presence of Prof. J.K. Sehgal, Principal, PG Government College, Sector 11, and Sh. Rajesh Dahiya, Head of the Department of Physical Education.

The event was graced by Sh. Dheep Joy Mampilly, Indian Information Service, Director, CBC RO Chandigarh, and Ms. Sheenam Jain, Indian Information Service, Assistant Director, who also remained present throughout the program.

The exhibition featured visually compelling photo panels showcasing a series of activities conducted under the 10 Signature Events as part of the 100-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2025. Informative panels demonstrated how specific asanas benefit in managing various ailments such as sinusitis, anxiety, and alcohol withdrawal, underlining Yoga’s power in holistic wellness.

Following the inauguration, a mass yoga session was conducted by Ms. Ankita, Yoga Trainer, along with two demonstrators, Ms. Neha and Ms. Gurpreet, who guided the participants through various asanas. A Yoga Pledge was also administered by Ms. Ankita, encouraging attendees to embrace yoga for physical and mental well-being.

Nearly 450 participants, including students and NCC cadets, enthusiastically took part in the session.Addressing the gathering, SDM (Central) Naveen Rattu  urged participants to integrate yoga into their daily lives and to inspire others in their communities to do the same.

Sh. Dheep Joy Mampilly, Director, CBC, delivered the vote of thanks, emphasizing the importance of such outreach efforts in promoting a healthy and conscious lifestyle among the masses.The event was a successful blend of exhibition, education, and practice—reflecting CBC’s continued commitment to promoting national campaigns like the International Day of Yoga among the youth and the general public.
