Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation and progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in District Kishtwar. At the outset, the Executive Engineer JPDCL briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the current status of applications received and consumer registrations under the scheme.

Reviewing the procedural progress, the Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the slow progress of linkage of registration details of employees with the banks. Terming this initiative of PM as a highly economical energy option, the Deputy Commissioner urged the government employees to take lead and avail this scheme.

He asked the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of all the government departments to register and link 100 percent employees with the banks for availing loans. Furthermore, he instructed the Executive Engineer to widely circulate the step-by-step procedure for availing the scheme from registration to vendor selection, bank linkage and final installation and commissioning.

The meeting was attended by ACR Idrees Lone; CPO Shahnawaz Bali; Executive Engineer JPDCL Er Latif Wani; AEE JPDCL Er Sudheer Sharma, besides district and sectoral officers.
