The District Administration Poonch marked a significant milestone under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) as Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today handed over the house key to the 500th PMAY Urban beneficiary Lokesh Kumar, a street vendor by profession, resident of Ward No. 04 Poonch.
The Deputy Commissioner commended the homeowners for effectively utilizing Government support and expressed satisfaction with the scheme’s grassroots impact. The beneficiary also expressed gratitude to the government for the initiative, which has significantly improved his living conditions.
The DC also reviewed the overall progress of PMAY(U), including the new phase, PMAY 2.0. He directed concerned officials to ensure timely completion of under-construction units and expedite the survey process including organization of awareness camps.
He emphasized transparency, beneficiary satisfaction, and quality construction as key pillars of the scheme's success. Officials from Municipal Council Poonch and planning departments besides beneficiaries were present at the events.
