Anurag Verma Chairs Meeting with Deed Writers to Discuss Reforms in Deed Registration Process

Additional Chief Secretary cum Financial Commissioner Revenue, Anurag Verma, today, held a meeting with the local deed writers to identifying points of harassment and to introduce various reforms for public facilitation and aimed at eradicating corruption. He said that as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation has been going to take path breaking initiatives to simplify the process and facilitate the public besides rooting out the corruption from the Tehsils completely.  

He said that this will focus on complete transparency and accountability and timely delivery of the registered deeds and documents in tehsil offices. He said that the simplification in existinh deed registration work will be public conducive so that they do not face any problem at any tehsil office. He said that the this reform will also be helpful to the deed writers.

Additional Chief Secretary added that a detailed study is being conducted before finalising the new reforms and during the operation, there will be stiil a chance to make further improvements. He also apprised them of the online generation of Farads on Punjab Land Revenue Society website that would be recognised as original ones generated physically. 

He said that Punjab Government is working diligently to make the revolutionary improvements in the old revenue registration work by introducing various reforms for public facilitation that are aimed at eradicating corruption, improving the quality of work besides saving their precious time.

During the meeting, Advocate Rajinder Pal Singh Anand and Advocate Manjit Singh Sidhu who were also present in the meeting, appreciated the initiative of Punjab Government to facilitate the people by easing the registration process and said that it will be beneficial for the public.

Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation, Sonali Giri, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur and District Revenue Officer Amandeep Chawala were also present in the meeting.
