In a spirited initiative to foster national unity and understand the way of life in the border villages, about 70 NCC Cadets and Instructional Staff of 13 Punjab Battalion NCC under NCC Group Ludhiana visited the border village of Hussainiwala as part of the Vibrant Village Programme-II.

This programme aims to integrate the population in these villages with the nation, ensure prosperity in border villages and promote the local culture and heritage. This visit also aimed to imbue young NCC cadets with patriotism through direct engagement with border village communities & security forces deployed at the border and to understand the challenges being faced by them.

The cadets as part of the visit paid homage at the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala which depicts the irrepressible revolutionary spirit of our three National Martyrs namely Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru who smilingly embraced martyrdom for the motherland. The cadets then interacted with Troops at the Border Check Post to understand the challenges faced by them on a daily basis in guarding our borders and they appreciated their tough routine.

The cadets also visited a school hugging the International Border at Gatti Rajoke and had a intellectual engagement with the local students to establish and strengthen the Youth Network. To conclude the visit a friendly Kabaddi match was also organised with enthusiastic participation from the cadets and locals to promote physical fitness and sports culture as a mitigation strategy to reduce the likelihood of drug abuse.

For the NCC cadets of 13 Punjab Battalion NCC, this tour of Hussainiwala border village marks a testament to their dedication towards fostering bonds of unity in diverse corners of India and achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
