Dr. Ishank Kumar flags issue of bus routes in Chabbewal constituency

MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar has raised the issue of bus routes of Punjab Roadways in Chabbewal constituency at Vidhan Sabha during Budget Session with assurance from Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar to examine and resume routes shortly. While raking up the concern of Punjab Roadways buses routes revoked at the time of COVID lockdown, MLA Dr. Ishank urged the Minister to review the said routes so as to provide better and easy transport facility to residents of his constituency especially the rural population and students. 

He said the existing routes should be increased as per the enhanced volume of passengers towards different destination from the Chabbewal constituency. MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar pointed out that various  government bus routes were shut down during the Covid, which should be reviewed and restarted as soon as possible.

Referring to the demand put forth by Dr. ishank, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the several villages of Chabbewal constituency were being covered under the existing route from Adampur to Chandigarh. The buses plying from Ludhiana to Hoshiarpur via Nawan Shahr-Garhshankar are also ensuring  transportation facilities to the residents of  of Mahilpur and Chabbewal villagers.

The Minister further informed that all the routes will be examined and started according to the viability. He said that the government buses running between  Ludhiana & Shahtalai entering Himachal Pradesh passing through  Nawanshahr-Garhshankar-Mahilpur and villages of Chabbewal constituency through village Jaijon. 

He said that the route from Phagwara to Mahilpur was also facilitating the passengers for villages including  Panshta, Bham, and Barian. He assured that requisite action will be initiated soon regarding the routes in Chabbewal constituency.
