Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu IAS and SSP Mr. Varinder Singh Brar today visited the De-addiction Center and Rehabilitation Center here. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu instructed the staff of the Health Department that the patients coming here for treatment should be properly taken care of and they should be properly counselled so that they remain mentally motivated for de-addiction.
She said that efforts should also be made to engage the patients here in constructive activities so that their self-confidence remains high and they can permanently get rid of the bad habit of drugs. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu and SSP Varinder Singh Brar interacted with the patients who came here for treatment and encouraged them.
They also asked the family members of the patients to continue to encourage them so that they can get rid of the bad habit of drugs permanently. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner asked the Civil Surgeon and Psychiatrists that if there is any lack of facilities in the drug de-addiction centers and rehabilitation centers, then it should be completed immediately so that the people coming here for treatment do not face any problem.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the district residents that drug de-addiction centers are running in the civil hospitals of Abohar and Fazilka in the district and if anyone is suffering from this problem, then they should get treatment from here. She said that drug addicts are treated free of cost at government drug de-addiction centers and if anyone is admitted here for druge de-addiction, his identity is also kept confidential.
On this occasion, apart from SP Pradeep Singh Sandhu, Dr. Lehmber Ram Civil Surgeon Fazilka, Dr. Eric Edison, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Psychiatrist and Dr. Pikakshi Arora Psychiatrist were also present.
