GNDU Successfully Organizes Inter-Department Girls' Cricket Tournament Under FIT INDIA Program

Under the able guidance and support of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh the Guru Nanak Dev University successfully organized the Inter-Department Cricket (Girls) Tournament as part of the FIT INDIA Program initiated by the Government of India.

The competition was held from February 6 to February 11, 2025. A total of nine girls' teams from various departments actively participated in this tournament, showcasing talent and sportsmanship among the participants.

The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean of Student Welfare and Dr. Amrinder Singh, Head of the MYAS Department of Sports Science and Medicine, along with Dr. Amandeep Singh Teacher In-charge, GNDU Campus Sports Nodal Officer - GNDU FIT INDIA Program, Government of India, who proudly presented trophies to the winning teams. 

Results: 1st Place: MYAS Department of Sports Science and Medicine 2nd Place: Department of Political Science 3rd Place: Computer Engineering & Technology Department 4th Place: Department of Physics. 

Dr. Bedi said that this tournament not only promoted sportsmanship among the students but also aligned with the national objective of encouraging physical fitness through the FIT INDIA initiative.
