The election for the President and Vice President of Nagar Panchayat Dirba was completed today at the Sub Divisional Complex Dirba under the supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrate Rajesh Sharma as all the members unanimously elected Maninder Singh as President and Jaspreet Kaur as Vice President.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also honoured and congratulated President Maninder Singh and Vice President Jaspreet Kaur and called upon them to work with full dedication and enthusiasm. 

He said that Maninder Singh was an active young leader of Aam Aadmi Party and all the members of the Nagar Panchayat have set an example by unanimously electing both the prominent office bearers. 

He said that the entire team of Nagar Panchayat Dirba, while upholding the thinking of Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to fulfill every promise made to the people with honesty and dedication.

Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that with the completion of the election process of the President and Vice President, the Nagar Panchayat team has also started development works under which two multi-crore pro-people projects will soon be launched in Dirba, including an indoor stadium and a palace to be built at a cost of about Rs 2.25 crore for organising social events. 

He said that there is no dearth of grants for development works and all-round development of every rural and urban area is being done in a planned manner. On this occasion, OSD of the Cabinet Minister Tapinder Singh Sohi, Chairman Improvement Trust Pritam Singh Peetu, Chairman Market Committee Sangrur Avtar Singh Elwal, Executive Officer Chandra Prakash Wadhwa, other officers and all councilors were also present.
