Desh Bhagat University (DBU) hosted an insightful expert talk on the critical issue of space debris by Mr. Rajinder Kumar Verma, a renowned space scientist and expert in aerospace engineering. The event attracted students, faculty members, and space enthusiasts alike, offering a deep dive into the growing problem of space debris and its implications for future space exploration and satellite communication.

Mr. Verma, who has years of experience working with major space agencies, opened the session by explaining the phenomenon of space debris—non-functional satellites, spent rocket stages, and fragments from collisions or disintegration orbiting the Earth. He emphasized how the increasing volume of debris in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) poses significant risks to operational satellites and manned space missions, potentially leading to catastrophic collisions.
