Shikha Nehra, Deputy Director of Public Relations Punjab has joined as Deputy Director at Patiala, becoming the first female officer to assume this prestigious divisional post which was recently created as part of the department’s expansion and restructuring.

With an illustrious career spanning 33 years in the Department of Public Relations, Ms. Nehra brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role. Earlier she had a brief stint in Bathinda as Deputy Director Public Relations before taking on her current role in Patiala.

Ms. Nehra began her career as an Assistant Public Relations Officer (APRO) and has since served with distinction in various roles, including working with the Hon'ble Governor of Punjab, the Deputy Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, 12 Chief Secretaries, the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Chief Electoral Officer. 

She has also contributed significantly as the editor of the government publication 'Advance' for many years. Besides these offices she handled the Social Media, Electronic Media and PUNMEDIA sections of the department. Her extensive experience and commitment to her duties have earned her a stellar reputation within the department and across various government sectors. 

After assuming charge, Ms. Nehra expressed her gratitude to the government especially the Secretary Public Relations department Sh Malwinder Singh Jaggi  for entrusting her with this responsibility and giving her the opportunity the serve in Patiala. Pledging to carry out her responsibilities with zeal and commitment, she looks forward to serving the public and continuing her legacy of excellence in public relations.

Her appointment marks a significant step forward for female representation in senior positions within the department as well as the Patiala district.  The team at Patiala looks forward to her dynamic leadership.
