In a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, held a press conference today at Punjab Congress Bhawan, Chandigarh, alongside senior party leadership.

Warring condemned the blatant malpractices and misuse of power by AAP ahead of the upcoming Panchayat elections in Punjab, accusing the ruling party of systematically undermining the democratic process to secure its grip on power.Warring highlighted the hypocrisy of AAP, which had come to power with promises of “Badlaav”, but has since only “ruined the state completely.”

He pointed out that democracy in Punjab is being eroded under AAP’s rule. “It is really sad how democracy is being ruined in Punjab and the country. The state of the entire nation is evident in front of all of us, but democracy is now being ruined in Punjab as well by the Aam Aadmi Party,” Warring said.

He slammed AAP for delaying the Panchayat elections and manipulating the process in favor of their own candidates, stating that “they know that if they hold the elections in all fairness, no candidate backed by them will win a seat.”The PPCC chief also brought attention to the violence and intimidation tactics being used against opposition leaders and candidates.

He condemned the attack on former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira, allegedly orchestrated by a police officer linked to AAP, calling it a “highly condemnable” act that must be investigated. “The misuse of power by the Aam Aadmi Party in the Panchayat elections has now been exposed. The way the administration and police force are being used poses a threat to democracy. This behavior must stop,” Warring added.

He accused the AAP of tampering with the election process by rejecting documentation of opposition candidates without justification, manipulating the list of reserved villages, and influencing the administrative machinery to favor their own candidates.

Warring expressed outrage over the District Commissioner of Gurdaspur’s refusal to entertain Congress leaders, including senior MPs and Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa, when they raised concerns about AAP’s election malpractices. “It is shocking how the District Commissioner of Gurdaspur has acted with senior leaders of Punjab Congress, be it existing MPs or LOP Bajwa Ji,” Warring remarked.

The PPCC President vowed that the Congress party would not tolerate such actions and would ensure accountability. “We have created a list and will ensure that action is taken against all these people who have stained the police uniform all for their personal gain.

The police force, which has failed to take action against gangsters, has now resorted to act like gangsters themselves, ruining law and order in the state,” the PPCC Chief stated firmly. He also promised that the party would take legal recourse to challenge these malpractices, stating that “we will go to the court with petitions and ensure justice is served.”

In his concluding remarks, Warring did not hold back from taking direct aim at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of overseeing and enabling these undemocratic practices. “The Aam Aadmi Party has betrayed the trust of the people of Punjab, and under Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, they have stooped to manipulating the very foundation of our democracy—the Panchayat elections.

This will not be forgotten, and we will fight tooth and nail to restore fairness and justice in the state,” Warring declared.During the press conference, MP Amar Singh Ji, MLA Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa Ji, Ex-Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu Ji, Ex-MLA Rajinder Singh Ji, Ex-MLA Hardial Singh Kamboj Ji, Harinderpal Singh Harry Mann Ji, Kamal Dhaliwal Ji, and Punjab Youth Congress President Mohit Mohindra Ji were also present.
