A significant meeting was held today under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, in the presence of the Police Commissioner and other senior officials, to implement the National Coordination Centre for Drug Law Enforcement Framework and enhance control over drugs in the district.

The meeting emphasized strengthening cooperation between various agencies to prevent drug trafficking and related issues, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the citizens of Amritsar. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney stated that the fight against drugs requires the collective efforts of law enforcement, district administration, and society.

She said the administration is committed to taking strict action against drug dealers and ensuring the rehabilitation of individuals caught in drug abuse. However, the cooperation of the police and the public is equally essential for this. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar highlighted the need for strong collaboration and timely action between the police and the public to dismantle the drug supply chain in the region.

All officials pledged to work together to make Amritsar a drug-free district. The Police Commissioner instructed the officials present in the meeting to share any information regarding drugs from their offices or circles with the police. Additionally, it was emphasized that the message must reach the public that drugs are highly detrimental to health and that everyone should contribute to the fight against this menace.
