Taking another initiative, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar has launched a campaign “Drug Addiction-Damage to Mankind”. Under this campaign Punjab State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar organized a seminar to sensitize the factory employees and workers against drug consumption at Mahindra & Mahindra, Swaraj Division, Phase-4, Mohali.

Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Manjinder Singh, while informing the employees and workers about the ill effects of drugs, said that people who are addicted to drugs are more prone to infectious diseases. People with addictions often have one or more related health problems, which may include lung or heart disease, stroke, cancer, or mental health conditions.

While addressing the workers, Additional Member Secretary, Mrs Smriti Dhir, said that the purpose of this campaign is to spread the message among the people of the state that the legal services authorities stand with the drug addicts to rehabilitate them and provide them with legal assistance.

Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar Mrs Surabhi Parashar, also addressed the gathering and revealed that if any person known to the factory employees or workers who is addicted to drugs wants to undergo treatment, the District Legal Services Authority will arrange for their treatment at the rehabilitation center free of cost.
