Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal and SSP Varinder Singh Brar held a meeting with members of Village Defence Committees (VDCs) in Joda Bhaini village of Jalalabad sub-division. The meeting aimed to discuss the development of border villages and address the concerns of border residents.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Duggal emphasized that the district administration is giving special priority to the development of border villages and resolving the issues faced by border residents. She appreciated the cooperation extended by border villagers to security agencies and their role in providing information about suspicious activities.
Dr. Duggal informed that Village Defence Committees have been set up in all border villages to keep a vigil on drug peddling and other anti-social activities. She assured that the administration will address the concerns of border residents promptly.
SSP Varinder Singh Brar appealed to the villagers to provide information about drone activities or suspicious persons to the police or BSF. He assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential. The meeting was attended by BSF Commandant Ravi Ranjan, SP Pradeep Singh Sandhu, and Jalalabad SDM Balkaran Singh.
