Two days after Punjab Police has solved the sensational Ferozepur Triple Murder case with the arrest of six shooters from Aurangabad in Maharashtra, investigations into the case have revealed that the assailants' primary target was deceased Dildeep, while the two other victims, including a young girl, were caught in the crossfire, losing their lives inadvertently. 

Those arrested have been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy Baba of Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran; Prince of village Kunde in Ferozepur; Ravinder Singh alias Ravi alias Sukhu, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay alias Bagicha and Rajbeer Singh alias Daler Singh, all residents of Basti Bagh Wali in Ferozepur.

The arrests were jointly made by the Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Ferozepur district Police, Central Agencies and Maharashtra Police from Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thakre Express Highway in Aurangabad. 

As per the information, on *September 3* at around 12:50 PM, Dildeep Singh, Anmolpreet Singh, Jaspreet Kaur, Akashdeep and Harpreet alias Jonty were traveling in a car near Gurudwara Shri Akalgarh Sahib, Kamboj Nagar, Ferozepur City, when six unidentified assailants opened the fire. 

In this incident,  Dildeep Singh alias Lalli, Akashdeep Singh and their sister Jaspreet Kaur were killed, and two others, Anmolpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh, were injured and are under going treatment in hospital. AIG AGTF Gurmeet Chauhan, AIG AGTF Sandeep Goel and SSP Ferozepur Saumya Mishra, who were addressing a joint press conference at Intelligence Headquarters here on Monday, said that all the six arrested accused persons are being brought to Ferozepur and they are expected to reach by Monday evening. 

All the accused persons will be produced before court to procure police remand for further questioning, they said. The officers were accompanied by DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar and DSP Rajan Parminder Singh.The officers said that as per the preliminary investigation carried out so far, has revealed that the murders were carried out due to personal enmity between Dildeep Singh and Buvnesh Chopra alias Ashish and Harpreet Singh alias Happy Mal. 

The deceased Dildeep Singh also had a previous criminal background, they said, while adding that efforts are being made to get the deportation/extradition of the main accused Buvnesh Chopra alias Ashish. Sharing operation details, AIG Gurmeet Chauhan said that an operation "Desert" to gather the leads from the scene of crime and background of the deceased persons was launched and after gathering human-intel and meticulous technical investigations, Counter Intelligence and Ferozepur Police had arrested accused Daljit Singh.

During interrogation, the accused Daljit revealed that he was given the task of carrying out the recce of the victims and keep a watch on their movements. He said that developing further leads, the AGTF tracked the movement of the suspects in the area of Nanded in Maharashtra and shared the inputs with Central Agencies and Maharashtra Police by ADGP AGTF Promod Ban, Punjab at 3 am on the intervening night of September 6 and 7, 2024. 

Following inputs, the Commissioner of Police, Chhatarpati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) alerted and activated his teams and DSP, AGTF Rajan Parminder Singh in close coordination with teams of Maharashtra Police on ground were able to intercept the Innova vehicle  MH 26AC 5599 and detain the accused on the specific and timely information shared by the Punjab Police, he said.

Meanwhile, all the arrested accused have criminal history with cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, robbery, NDPS Act, Arms Act etc registered against them. While, accused Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy Baba has also been declared proclaimed offender in two cases. 

A case FIR No. 344 dated 03.09.2024 had been registered under sections 103, 109, 351(2), 191(3), 190 and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 25(6) and 25(7) of the Arms Act at Police Station City Ferozepur.
