The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is organizing a 'Teean da Mela' festival dedicated to Punjab's rich heritage at Bhalaiana village in Sri Muktsar Sahib District. The three-day event aims to promote Punjab's culture, heritage, and women's achievements.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rajesh Tripathi has instructed officials to make necessary arrangements for the festival. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Sanjeev Kumar held a meeting with various department officials at Bhalaiana to review preparations.
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar stated that the festival will showcase Punjab's rich cultural heritage, women's achievements, and inspiring stories of women from various fields. The event will feature cultural performances, traditional sports, and heritage skills competitions. Self-help groups led by women will set up stalls, and traditional food will be available. A selfie corner, mehndi corner, and stories of successful women's lives will also be part of the festival.
Officials present at the meeting included Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Surinder Singh Dhillon, SDM Sri Muktsar Sahib Baljit Kaur, DSP Avtar Singh Rajpal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jagdeep Chawla, and District Language Officer Jagreet Kaur. The festival is expected to be a grand celebration of Punjab's culture and women's empowerment.
