The Himachal Pradesh National Law University organized ‘Aarohan- 2024’, an Orientation programme for newly admitted students of the undergraduate and postgraduate programme. The Chief guest of the programme was Justice C. B. Barowalia, Lokayukta of H.P., the programme was presided by Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Pro- Chancellor, IILM, University, Gurugram and the Guest of Honour was Prof. (Dr.) P. S. Jaswal, Vice- Chancellor, SRM University in the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Kr. Singh, Vice- Chancellor (officiating) HPNLU, Shimla today in which was attended by more than 200 UG and PG students.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice C. B. Barowalia, Lokayukta, H.P. addressed the students and stated that the profession of law is a noble profession. He urged the students to be disciplined in life and value their time during their course of study.The presidential address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Pro- Chancellor, IILM, University, Gurugram, in which he stated that the profession of law is noble profession as history of freedom struggle is written by lawyers in most countries. He quoted three stories from his experience which concluded that the legal profession is in itself a transformative profession.
The Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) P. S. Jaswal, Vice- Chancellor, SRM University, motivated the students and congratulated them on choosing the carrier of law. He also urged the students to not to be information centric rather be knowledge centric as information without knowledge is not fruitful.
The Vice- Chancellor (officiating), HPNLU, Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Kr. Singh welcomed he students and discussed about course outline being available for students for each subject. He also urged the students to make use of the library as it is equipped with various titles on law and social sciences. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) S. S. हिमाचल प्रदेश राष्ट्रीय विधि विश्वविद्यालय ने स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर कार्यक्रम के नव प्रवेशित छात्रों के लिए ‘आरोहण- 2024’ अभिमुखीकरण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया। कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि हिमाचल प्रदेश के लोकायुक्त न्यायमूर्ति सी.बी. बारोवालिया थे, कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता प्रो. (डॉ.) रणबीर सिंह, प्रो-चांसलर, आईआईएलएम, विश्वविद्यालय, गुरुग्राम ने की और विशिष्ट अतिथि प्रो. (डॉ.) पी.एस. जसवाल, कुलपति, एसआरएम विश्वविद्यालय थे। प्रो. (डॉ.) चंचल कुमार सिंह, कुलपति (कार्यवाहक) एचपीएनएलयू, शिमला के नेतृत्व में आज 200 से अधिक यूजी और पीजी छात्रों ने भाग लिया।
मुख्य अतिथि, माननीय न्यायमूर्ति सी. बी. बारोवालिया, लोकायुक्त, हिमाचल प्रदेश ने छात्रों को संबोधित किया और कहा कि कानून का पेशा एक महान पेशा है। उन्होंने छात्रों से जीवन में अनुशासित रहने और अपने अध्ययन के दौरान अपने समय का मूल्य समझने का आग्रह किया। अध्यक्षीय भाषण प्रो. (डॉ.) रणबीर सिंह, प्रो-कुलपति, आईआईएलएम, विश्वविद्यालय, गुरुग्राम ने दिया, जिसमें उन्होंने कहा कि कानून का पेशा एक महान पेशा है क्योंकि अधिकांश देशों में स्वतंत्रता संग्राम का इतिहास वकीलों द्वारा लिखा गया है।
उन्होंने अपने अनुभव से तीन कहानियों का हवाला दिया, जिससे यह निष्कर्ष निकला कि कानूनी पेशा अपने आप में एक परिवर्तनकारी पेशा है। विशिष्ट अतिथि, प्रो. (डॉ.) पी. एस. जसवाल, कुलपति, एसआरएम विश्वविद्यालय ने छात्रों को प्रेरित किया और उन्हें कानून का पेशा चुनने के लिए बधाई दी।
उन्होंने छात्रों से सूचना केंद्रित न होकर ज्ञान केंद्रित होने का भी आग्रह किया सिंह ने छात्रों का स्वागत किया और प्रत्येक विषय के लिए छात्रों के लिए उपलब्ध पाठ्यक्रम रूपरेखा के बारे में चर्चा की। उन्होंने छात्रों से पुस्तकालय का उपयोग करने का भी आग्रह किया क्योंकि यह कानून और सामाजिक विज्ञान पर विभिन्न शीर्षकों से सुसज्जित है। प्रो. (डॉ.) एस.एस. जसवाल, रजिस्ट्रार, एचपीएनएलयू, शिमला ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापन दिया।
