Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM Punjab, today requested Punjab Government to immediately book PPCC President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa for spreading rumours in the state with the sole intent of creating disturbance and disaffection in the state. In a statement issued here today, Mr. Grewal said that the latest utterances of Mr. Bajwa regarding various industrial houses fleeing the state has confirmed the fact that Cat is now out of bag and it was congressmen, who were behind the SMS campaign of Kala Kacha Gang create scare amongst the people. He said that the main intent of Bajwa was to strike at the root of night policing started by Punjab Government as it directly affected the “business of influential Congress leaders carried out during night. He said that by spreading rumours they had orchestrated attack on the police parties to deter them from intensive night patrolling but their design failed because vigilant public saw through the game plan of rumour mongering.
Grewal said that the latest outburst of Bajwa of industry fleeing from the state was result of pent-up frustration with state set to achieve the milestone of power surplus status in next three months. He said that Power Surplus status was direct slap on the face of Congress Party that had mounted five year long campaign to prove it a daydream of Sukhbir. He said that desperation of Congress leaders was understandable as Punjab would be the first Power Surplus State, coupled with best ‘earn your incentives’ industrial policy that had created ripples in total industrial scenario of the country. He said that the frustration of Congress leaders have peaked with total TATA Group descending to Punjab to explore investment opportunities. Frustrated by public exposure of their lies, now Mr. Bajwa has started rumour campaign regarding industry fleeing the state.Rebutting the claims of Mr. Bajwa regarding flight of Industrial Capital from state, Mr. Grewal said that Punjab is only state that has attracted more than Rs. 1 lakh crore investment in industry and power sector during last six years. He said that the temporary Power cuts in industrial sector were only for one day for high power consuming industry to provide relief to domestic consumers in hot humid weather.
Requesting the Punjab Government to immediately book Mr. Bajwa for spreading rumours and launch criminal proceedings against him. He said that Mr. Bajwa was intentionally trying to create disturbance in the border state of Punjab keeping in mind volatile situation at Line of Control and it should be dealt with heavy hand. He said that Punjab Government should also launch criminal defamation proceedings against Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa for sullying the image of the Government with unfounded charges without any evidence.
