Managing Director Markfed Mr Girish Dayalan on Saturday inspected wheat procurement operations at Khanna grain market. Taking stock of the ground level situation in the Asia's largest grain market, Girish Dayalan accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, Markfed Additional Managing Director Sandeep Singh Garha, Chief Manager Yashpal Sharma said that elaborate arrangements were already in place for smooth lifting, purchase and transportation of wheat.
He said that massive efforts were afoot to complete this operation with the active support of all the stakeholders. Dayalan also asked the District Mangers of all the procurement agencies to make sure that farmers do not face any sort of inconvenience during the season. He also ordered the officials to regularly visit the districts and take stock of the ground level situation.
He stated that the pace of arrivals and purchase would pick up in the coming days hence the officials need to be ready to ensure prompt lifting to avoid glut.Later, the officials also visited grain market at Samrala. Meanwhile taking part in deliberations, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that due to adequate arrangements, the administration managed to save the produce in the grain markets from inclement weather.
She said that till to date, 42372.90 MT wheat had arrived into grain markets of which 77-percent purchased by agencies. The payments worth Rs 44.982 crores had also been paid to the farmers. She also urged the farmers to bring dry produce to the grain markets for instant purchase.

ਮਾਰਕਫੈੱਡ ਦੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਿੰਗ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਗਿਰੀਸ਼ ਦਿਆਲਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਦਾਣਾ ਮੰਡੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਣਕ ਦੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਕੀਤਾ। ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਿਰੀਸ਼ ਦਿਆਲਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ, ਮਾਰਕਫੈੱਡ ਦੇ ਐਡੀਸ਼ਨਲ ਮੈਨੇਜਿੰਗ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜ੍ਹਾ, ਚੀਫ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਯਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ, ਖਰੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਢੋਆ-ਢੁਆਈ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਈਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਦਿਆਲਨ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਖਰੀਦ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਨੇਜਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਖਰੀਦ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਔਕੜ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯਮਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮਦ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਦੀ ਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਰਾਲਾ ਦੀ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਸਦਕਾ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਈ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਮੌਸਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 42372.90 ਮੀਟਰਕ ਟਨ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਆਮਦ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 77 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖਰੀਦੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ 44.982 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਇਗੀ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਕਣਕ ਹੀ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸਦੀ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਖਰੀਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
