Anti-ragging Orientation program and White Coat ceremony for the new first year batch of BDS students was conducted in Rayat Bahra Dental College and Hospital (RBDCH). Principal Dr Akshey K Sharma said Dental Council of India (DCI) member Dr Sachin Dev Mehta, a renowned senior dentist, was present as the resource person for the program.
He interacted with the students and gave them practical tips on how to excel in their passion and profession. Dr Mehta said proactive monitoring can be done by forming teachers’ collegium who could undertake surprise visits and anonymous surveys.
He said authorities are also bound to set up anti-ragging cells at the college, which can offer counselling and human rights lessons. Colleges can organise interactive sessions between senior and junior students to build a rapport. Adverse spots mapping, staggered entry of freshers and seniors, setting up Drop Boxes, awareness classes etc.
Are novel ways to reduce adversities. Teachers need to have personal rapport with students to understand their problem. Dr Mehta shared his own experiences as a fresh dental student after his admission and exchanged his views on how the things have changed over the years in the domain of ragging.
He spoke about expectations of parents and teachers as well from their students of dental stream. He motivated the students to keep their spirits high and to be sincere in practicing their profession.

They appreciated Dr Mehta for his offer to deal with students and 24×7 availability for providing all kinds of guidance wherever and whenever needed.

ਰਿਆਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਡੈਂਟਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ (ਆਰ,ਬੀ ਡੀ ਸੀ ਐਚ ) ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਡੀਐਸ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਬੈਚ ਲਈ ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਈਟ ਕੋਟ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਪਿ੍ੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ: ਅਕਸ਼ੈ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡੈਂਟਲ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਡੀਆ (ਡੀਸੀਆਈ) ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਡਾ: ਸਚਿਨ ਦੇਵ ਮਹਿਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਾਕਟਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਲਈ ਸਰੋਤ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਨੂੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਦਿੱਤੇ।ਡਾ: ਮਹਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੌਲਿਜੀਅਮ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਦੌਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਤ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪਾਬੰਦ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕਾਉਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਾਲਜ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਤੇ ਜੂਨੀਅਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇੰਟਰਐਕਟਿਵ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਪਿੰਗ, ਡ੍ਰੌਪ ਬਾਕਸ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ, ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ਡਾਕਟਰ ਮਹਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਖਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਬਦਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਡੈਂਟਲ ਸਟਰੀਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿੱਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਹਿਰਦਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।ਡਾ: ਅਕਸ਼ੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ, ਡਾ: ਨੀਨਾ ਮਹਿਤਾ, ਡੀਨ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਅਤੇ ਡਾ: ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਵਾਈਸ-ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੋਵੇ ਹਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 24×7 ਉਪਲਬਧਤਾ ਲਈ ਡਾ. ਮਹਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਰਿਆਤ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਸ਼ਨਜ਼ (ਆਰਬੀਜੀਆਈ) ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਬੀਯੂ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ-ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ: ਪਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜੇ।
