The inauguration ceremony of the new Judicial Courts Complex was successfully held today i.e. 20.03.2024. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court inaugurated the New Judicial Courts Complex, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in the August Presence of Hon’ble Mrs Justice Lisa Gill, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suvir Sehgal, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jasgurpreet Singh Puri, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vikas Bahl and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Harsh Bunger, Sh. Kanwaljit Singh Bajwa, Learned District and Sessions Judge, SBS Nagar,
The ceremony marked the culmination of nearly seven years of construction and signifies a new chapter in the administration of justice and ease of work for the legal fraternity. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the esteemed chief guest Hon’ble Mr. Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, the Acting Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court and other eminent judges of the High court.
In his address, Justice Sandhawalia, stressed that, “it is a matter of great pleasure that I have got a chance to virtually be among you for the inauguration of New Judicial Court Complex, SBS Nagar. This momentous structure, as expected, is not just a physical structure but it is a testimony to our commitment to justice, fairness and the rule of law.”
The new court complex is spread across an area of 11.88 Acres. It consists of a Court block and a spacious area centre, which is constructed over 1.65 acres of land. Designated area has been earmarked for lawyers’ chambers. The Complex encumpasses 1.88 acres of green area.
This state-of-the-art facility consists of 11 Court rooms with all modern facilities. There is provision for construction of additional four court rooms. There is a designated video conference room. Separate rooms have been designated for vulnerable witnesses and for permanent lok adalat.
There is a fully AC designated bar room for the Advocates and library in about 4400 square feet area. Separate facilities have been provided for specially abled people and those of other genders. There is provision for creche built in 1000 square feet area.
The building is modern and ecological sustainable with all provisions for rain water harvesting. The building is earthquake resistance. It has scope for expansion by addition of 2 additional floors to meet future exegencies.
In his address, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Harsh Bunger stressed that, “I congratulate all, for this New Judicial Complex and I am sure that this will substantially improve the working environment for the Judicial Officers, Lawyers and Court staff, which shall further enable us all to pursue the noble cause of dispensing justice and to embolden the motto “Satyameva Jayateh”.
Sh. K. S. Bajwa, Learned District and Sessions Judge, SBS Nagar vowed that “Justice shall not only be delivered but shall be served.”The legal fraternity at SBS Nagar is committed to justice delivery and rule of law. The inauguration of the New Judicial Courts Complex is a significant step forward in achieving this goal.

ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧਵਾਲੀਆ ਐਕਟਿੰਗ ਚੀਫ਼ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਂਡ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਰੋਡ ਸਥਿਤ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਨਵੇਂ ਕੋਰਟ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਐਡਮਿਨਸਟ੍ਰੇਟਿਵ ਜੱਜ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਐਸ.ਬੀ.ਐਸ. ਨਗਰ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਜੱਜ ਹਰਸ਼ ਬੰਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਲਾ ਤੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਜੱਜ ਕੰਵਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੋਰਟ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੋਰਟ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿਖੇ 11 ਅਦਾਲਤਾਂ, ਪਾਰਕਿੰਗ ਏਰੀਆ, ਗਰੀਨ ਪਾਰਕ, ਛੇ ਲਿਫਟਾਂ, ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ, ਵਾਸ਼ ਰੂਮ, ਏ.ਟੀ.ਐਮ. ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਪੈਂਸਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਉਪਲਬੱਧ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।
