The 4-day residential training program aimed at enhancing the skills of Level-3 functionaries of Samba district regarding the operation and maintenance of Rural Water Supply Schemes. The program concluded with insightful remarks from Abhishek Sharma, District Development Commissioner Samba, who chairs the District Jal Jeevan Mission.

The training, graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Ashwani Khajuria, Special Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Bodh Raj Bhagat SE Hydraulic Circle Jammu, Manesh K Bhat Consultant, JJM, (Retd. Chief Engineer) and other officials from the Jal Shakti Department, focused on various crucial aspects of maintaining rural water supply schemes.

A key highlight of the program was the emphasis on shifting from an 'engineering-led approach' to a 'community-led, community-owned, and community-driven approach' for sustainable operation and maintenance.

Participants, comprising members from Paani Samitis at the village level, Anganwari workers, ex-Panch/sarpanch, VLW/Pyt secretaries, prominent citizens, and officials from the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department, gained valuable insights into the O&M Policy for rural water supply schemes.

Furthermore, the program culminated with the recognition and award presentation to the best-performing staff of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department and participants who exhibited exceptional performance during the training sessions.

This training program signifies our collective commitment to ensuring the efficient and sustainable management of rural water resources, ultimately contributing to the well-being and development of communities in the Samba region.
