The District Election Office Kulgam today conducted a day long training session for Zonal/ Sectoral Officers and Zonal/ Sectoral Police officers and allied staff for forthcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024 at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, here.

The training program focused on equipping Zonal/Sector Officers and Zonal/Sector Police officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage their designated zones and sectors during the Lok Sabha elections. The training session was presided over by the District Election Officer (DEO) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.

Addressing the participants, DEO apprised the officers about their role and urged them to adhere to the rules and regulations, ensuring that elections in the district are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. All were apprised about their role in election process like election management, Assured Minimum facilities, Transport plan, pre-poll, Poll Day Arrangements and post-poll duties of Zonal/Sector Officers and adhering to the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct.

During the training session, SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal also deliberated on the need for alertness and security of the voters and polling parties as the top most priority of the administration duty. The District Level Master Trainers presented detailed information regarding the preparation and conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

On the occasion, a question answer session was also held during which participants raised several queries to which the Master Trainers gave satisfactory answers, clearing all the doubts about the election procedures and rules. Dy-DEO, Bilal Kamgar and other District officers also participated in the programme.
