With the holy month of Ramzan round the corner, Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh today convened a meeting to review the preparations for the smooth and peaceful observance of the fasts and prayers in the district.

The ADDC instructed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftar times, when the devotees consume their pre-dawn and post-sunset meals. He also asked them to provide adequate water supply.

He further directed the JMC to ensure proper garbage management and sanitation in and around the religious places. The ADDC ordered the market checking teams to conduct regular inspections of the pricing and quality of the food items, especially meat, in the markets. He warned of strict action against any violation of the norms and regulations.

He also discussed the security arrangements with officers from the district police and others and termed coordination and cooperation essential for all arrangements. The meeting was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate Jammu North Nitish Rajora, SDM Jammu South Atul Dutt Sharma, officers from Jammu Municipal Corporation and from other line departments and the district Police.
