Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas today inaugurated a vibrant Kisan Mela  as part of  Mahashivratri festivities, illuminating the serene precincts of Airwan Mandir, Nagri. 

The event witnessed an enthusiastic convergence of farmers, artists, and devotees alike, fostering a spirit of community and celebration. Commencing with an auspicious ceremony, the Kisan Mela served as a beacon of agricultural prosperity and cultural richness, showcasing an eclectic array of locally sourced produce and other products. 

Farmers from the surrounding regions congregated to exhibit their bountiful harvests, offering a kaleidoscope of fresh fruits, vegetables & grains embodying the essence of rural abundance. Amidst the bustling milieu, artists showcased their talent, presenting a mesmerizing performance and exhibited the region's rich cultural heritage and artistic finesse, captivating the senses of attendees and dignitaries alike. Inaugurating the festivities, DC Kathua lauded the efforts of the Airwan Mandir Committee in fostering community cohesion and promoting rural entrepreneurship.

Emphasising the symbiotic relationship between tradition and modernity, Dr. Minhas underscored the pivotal role of such cultural celebrations in preserving the essence of our heritage while embracing the winds of change. 

Echoing Dr. Minhas's sentiments, representatives of the Airwan Mandir Committee expressed gratitude to the participants and attendees for their unwavering support, affirming their commitment to nurturing a vibrant cultural tapestry rooted in tradition and camaraderie. 

The Kisan Mela adding to the enduring spirit of rural resilience and communal harmony, served as a prelude to the grand festivities slated for Mahashivratri, underscoring the timeless allure of Airwan Mandir as a sanctum of devotion and cultural reverence.

 The DC also extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all attendees on the auspicious occasion of the upcoming Mahashivratri. He emphasized the significance of this sacred festival, highlighting its role in fostering unity, spirituality, and cultural heritage.

Encouraging the community to embrace the spirit of reverence and introspection synonymous with Mahashivratri, the DC underscored the importance of celebrating traditions that bind us together as a cohesive society. Among others, ADC Kathua, CAO Kathua and other Sectoral Officers were present on the occasion.
